A dawn on the Cavour Canal

Weeks of waiting, using The Photographer's Ephemeris to calculate the exact moment in which the sunrise would have been perfectly aligned with the Cavour Canal and where. In the days just preceding, the hope of having a nice day: in April the weather in the Po Valley can bring really bad surprises.

Finally, the alarm clock at 4:30 in the morning, all set. I go to San Marco di Villarboit, crossing the rice fields still asleep under a light blanket of fog. Everything is perfect, I could not have hoped for better... and sometimes in photography you need a little luck. We go up on the towpaths of the Cavour Canal in the middle of tall grass and walk the last few meters to overcome a bend.
