The Great Rice Mandala of Vercelli

There are projects, events, stories that participate in defining the identity of a community. Because they create a collective memory, because they are something you can be sincerely proud of, because they bring people together around a symbol and they have the power to make you aspire to higher goals. The Rice Mandala was and will be all of this for Vercelli.

An idea by Livio Bourbon and Gianni Paronuzzi-Ticco to remember Enrico and Ilaria, the Rice Mandala is an event I had the immense pleasure of being there for 😉 But the project has such a number of levels of reading that it puts the chills .

My reportage of the 5 days of the event, from the first drawing on the floor of the Commodity Exchange to the feast of the Dissolution of the Mandala.

An incredible experience.
